Jonathon Ready

I build as a way of finding myself.

Right now I'm building AI agents that help people discover ways of exploring the world they didn't know were possible.

Before this, I spent five years at Microsoft building systems that shipped to over a billion devices.

Wanderfugl 2024 — Present

Building an AI agent framework and UX for maps — agents that can reason about geography and human intent at the same time. Custom geocoders, low-latency tool chaining for real-time exploration, and systems that blend structured data with narrative context.

The challenge is making agents fast enough to feel conversational while understanding not just where places are, but why they matter to you. Visit Wanderfugl →

Microsoft 2019 — 2024

Invented a new compression method that made Windows 11 updates 40% smaller and shipped to over a billion devices. Featured in the Windows 11 keynote, reached #1 on Hacker News, and covered by ZDNet.

Penn State Graduated 2019

Founded and led the UAS student organization — a 100-member team that built autonomous aircraft for search-and-rescue missions. My first experience building a team from scratch around an ambitious idea.
